We use the game Dungeons and Dragons to teach young people about the key historical events and cultures of ancient civilizations! These game-based courses have been tremendously popular and have been very effective at triggering curiosity. In each course, students role-play historic characters to reenact an authentic historical event. The historical event, the individuals who were part of it, and the civilization’s language, culture and mythology all come to life as students reenact it all. The dungeon map is an authentic historical site, drawn precisely to scale. These courses also use formal lessons and follow-up activities to richly teach each topic.

Daniel Learning Services provides two course streams to help adolescent students be heard on deep human issues and learn critical reasoning skills. The “Think Like a Scholar” and the “Interconnectedness” courses use focused group discussion and fun activities to teach basic critical thinking and research skills, philosophy (…and why it is critically important to life) and the history and future of the world we live in. These are mind-awakening, practical courses.

In good weather, Daniel Learning Services provides both group lessons and individual coaching in traditional and recurve archery (no compounds) outdoors. We also provide instructor certification courses for USAA levels 1 and 2 by request.
